WonderTales Privacy Policy
WonderTales ("we," "our") is committed to protecting your and your family's privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our App. Last updated: February 2026.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide (e.g. account email, display name, child names and preferences) and data generated through use of the App (e.g. story prompts and generated content). We may also collect child photos (which contain face data) when you choose to add a photo for personalized story illustrations. We may also collect device and usage information to improve the service and fix issues.
Face data and images
When you add a photo of your child for personalized stories, we collect and process that image (which includes face data). We use this data solely to create personalized character illustrations for your child in stories. We do not use face data for identification, advertising, or any purpose other than generating illustrations. Your child's photo is sent to Google Cloud (Vertex AI) for processing, stored securely in Firebase Storage, and retained only for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all face data and photos are deleted. We do not sell, share, or use face data for advertising.
Third-party AI services
We use Google Cloud (Vertex AI) to provide personalized story generation, character extraction from photos, image generation, and text-to-speech narration. When you generate a story or add a child photo, we send the relevant data (e.g. child photo, name, story preferences, generated text) to Google Cloud for processing. Google processes this data under their data processing terms and security practices. We do not share your data with any other third parties for AI or advertising purposes.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and personalize stories, to run your account and subscriptions, to improve WonderTales and its AI models, and to communicate with you (e.g. support or important updates). We do not use your data for advertising directed at your children.
Children's privacy
WonderTales is designed for use by parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Child profiles (e.g. names, preferences) are provided by you and used only to personalize stories within the App.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored and processed using industry-standard security measures. We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your or your children's personal information. We share data with Google Cloud (Vertex AI) for story generation, character extraction from photos, image generation, and text-to-speech narration. Google processes this data under their data processing terms and provides the same or equal protection for your data. We may also share data with other service providers that help us operate the App (e.g. hosting, analytics), under strict confidentiality. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Your choices
You can review and update account and child profile information in the App. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings. Deleting the App may not remove all data from our systems; use in-app delete account for full removal.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place where required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes in the App or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
